The Conceptual Design Team with the Autodesk Building and Collaboration Group are extremely proud to introduce the first 3D architectural conceptual modeler for the iPad: FormIt! FormIt is an intuitive, easy to use mass modeling app that allows you to sketch your ideas in 3D wherever and whenever inspiration strikes. Your design ideas are stored in Autodesk® 360 where they can be further shared and analyzed with Autodesk’s ecosystem of desktop and cloud BIM applications. And the best part: it’s free!
Available now for iPad at the Apple App Store. And stay tuned for more as we introduce the app this week at Autodesk University in Las Vegas and online at the here and @AutodeskVasari.
It does not seem to be creating RVT files even after it shows successful
The RVT conversion is not online yet. Good eye, though!
I have a lovely Android based tablet that would love a copy of Formit, any chance of an Android App?…
We are looking into it
Thank you please soon… I’m an architect and this app this looks great, really useful and user friendly…
Good to hear this.
This app is amazing.
I really want to have it on my android pad.
Good to know! I’m not buying an ipad..love my ASUS Infinity
Have Autodesk considered the advantages of the ease of use & increased accuracy of a pen stylus? Useability could extend to ‘Phablet’ phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (currently 72% of all smartphones worldwide are android devices – huge market potential)
You really have done an amazing job with this first release! I actually built a model on the airplane yesterday. Really glad to have met the team at AU. These are exciting times.
Thanks Sean. Tweet some screen shots !
where is a full FormIt manual?
needed info ;
how to switch to metric?
how to draw arch on volume face?
etc.
regards
Tomasz
PS. – are there any plans to have Vasari on Mac OSX or IOS?
We do not yet have a full published manual, just the videos you find in the help section of the app. Metric is not yet available.
Ok, thanks . Will wait. Great start anyway!
What about “how to draw arch on volume face?”
Stay tuned
May I change unit to mm or m?
Stay tuned.
Also looking for an Andriod Version. Any ETA’s yet? I’d be particularly interested in s-pen support. Thanks!
Ditto that!!
This app has some exciting potential.
When you will be adding ability to:
1. Use multiple images & combination of satellite & street level photos
2. Place images on the faces of the 3D extrusion
Any way to do Boolean cut outs from objects like taking 2 objects and subtracting the difference. I use this allot to bor holes in other objects
Yes, if two objects are overlapping, tap and hold the object you want to cut FROM and choose the cut icon in the radial menu
Would lieke to have the app on a adroid tablet as well
Android please!!

I do not know whether it’s just me or if everyone else experiencing problems with your site. It appears as though some of the written text on your posts are running off the screen. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them too? This could be a problem with my web browser because I’ve had this happen before.
Cheers
